OVERVIEW

Fits Every Drawer Type

Eliminate dangling cords and device clutter by adding a Blade Series outlet into any new or existing drawer. Wherever you need hidden power, there is a Blade configuration that fits.

Blade in bathroom vanity drawers, kitchen charging drawer and kitchen appliance drawer

Most Popular Applications

  • Bathroom vanity drawers: Keep your hair dryer, straightener, and electric toothbrush plugged in and ready for use, eliminating countertop clutter.
  • Narrow drawers: Blade outlets can be installed into drawers as narrow as 9" by cutting a channel in the cabinet or by utilizing under-cabinet space. Learn more here.
  • Office drawers: Power a printer on a pull out shelf, or create a dedicated charging zone for phones and laptops beside your desk.
  • Appliance pull out drawers: Run a blender or other small appliance from inside an open kitchen drawer, keeping small appliances out of sight and freeing up valuable kitchen counter space.

Smart by Design

Blade Series outlets combine USB-C (PD), USB-A, and AC in flexible configurations that connect up to four devices, from phones and laptops to hair tools, printers, and small appliances. Its compact design fits every drawer type, while interchangeable outlet modules allow you to upgrade later as charging technology advances, making them a future-proof and enduring solution.

Simple to Plan and Install

Blade Series outlets work with shallow, tall, narrow, and vertical drawers, and are designed to fit into the standard 2" of space behind the drawer box, or as little as 1.25" with the use of a Spacer, in both standard and custom cabinetry. Every package includes detailed instructions, a cutout template, and all necessary screws, and installation requires only a few tools and basic DIY skills.

Safety & Code Compliance

All Blade outlets are ETL Listed for the US & Canada and feature an interlocking thermostat that cuts power at 120°F to prevent overheating. Premium all-metal construction is verified through rigorous cycle testing and backed by our industry-leading 5-year warranty.

Ensure NEC compliance (2023 edition):

  • Kitchen, bathroom, and other drawers: Any Blade Series outlet is NEC compliant in all drawers except those in kitchen islands and peninsulas.
  • Kitchen island and peninsula drawers: USB-only configurations (Blade 1514-180 or Blade Duo 1514-288) are allowed.

PROJECT PLANNING CHECKLIST

How to Plan Your Blade Project

Use this simple checklist to confirm drawer fit, choose the right power configuration, and plan your Blade installation with confidence.

Step-1-40px.png__PID:a0c554a0-47b2-41e1-a7e7-96632aaf45f3

Choose Your Room and Drawer Type

Start with where the Blade will go. The Blade fits all four drawer types: Shallow, Tall, Narrow, and Vertical. Vanity drawers and appliance pull-outs are typically tall, office and printer drawers are often shallow or vertical, and narrow drawers are common in pre-assembled vanities or alongside ranges and sink bases.

Step-2-40px.png__PID:b3a0c554-a047-42d1-a127-e796632aaf45

Verify Drawer Measurements

Measure the outside width (OD) of the drawer box. Installation requires 2" of space behind the drawer box, or 1.25" by adding a spacer.

  • Shallow Drawer: At least 15" of outside drawer-box width and 3" of interior height
  • Tall Drawer: At least 13" of outside drawer-box width and 4" of interior height
  • Narrow Drawers: Fits drawers as narrow as 9" wide by applying our narrow drawer installation technique.
  • Vertical Drawer: At least 8" of outside drawer-box width and 13" of interior height

Determine your Power and Configuration

  • For hair tools and small appliances, prioritize AC outlets.
  • For an office charging drawer, combine AC with USB-C (PD). Choose 65W USB-C (PD) for compatible laptops and larger technology, or 30W USB-C (PD) for phones and tablets.
  • If you're looking to connect even more devices, check out our Blade Duo outlet which supports up to 8 device connections.

For most projects, 15 amp is the standard choice. Choose a 20 amp Blade outlet when the device or specified circuit requires it.

FAQ

Blade Frequently Asked Questions

How narrow a drawer can the Blade fit?

The Blade fits drawer boxes as narrow as 9" wide (outside dimension) with the use of our narrow drawer installation technique. It also fits shallow, tall, and vertical drawers, and it can mount left- or right-facing.

Can I install a Blade in a bathroom vanity drawer?

Yes. Bathroom vanities are one of the most popular Blade applications. They keep hot tools and toothbrushes powered inside the drawer. If your vanity location requires GFCI protection, choose the Blade with GFCI (1514-150) or use one of the GFCI methods explained below.

Can the Blade power a printer or a small appliance?

Yes. The Blade's AC outlets power printers on office pull outs and small appliances in appliance pull out drawers. For a high-draw device on a dedicated 20 amp circuit, choose the 20 amp Blade.

How do I make sure my Blade is GFCI protected?

If code requires GFCI at your installation location, you have four options:

  • Plug your Blade into a GFCI outlet.
  • Wire your Blade in series with a GFCI outlet.
  • Plug your Blade into an outlet on a GFCI circuit.
  • Choose the Blade with GFCI (1514-150).
Should I choose the Blade or the Blade Duo?

Choose the Blade for more installation flexibility. It powers up to 4 devices, fits drawers as narrow as 9", and offers a GFCI configuration. Choose the Blade Duo for capacity: it powers up to 8 devices but needs a wider drawer, at least 13" for tall drawers or 15" for shallow drawers.

How much clearance do I need behind the drawer box?

Measure from the back of the drawer box to the back of the cabinet with the drawer closed.

  • 2" or more: The Blade installs with no modification.
  • 1.25" to 2": Add a Blade Spacer.
  • Under 1.25": The Blade will not fit.
Is the Blade code compliant and safety certified?

Yes. Every Blade is ETL Listed to UL 962A by Intertek. All AC outlets are tamper-resistant with a spring-loaded shutter. Each unit is cycle-tested to 500,000 open-and-close cycles and has a built-in 120°F thermostat.

What finishes and ports are available?

The Blade Duo comes in White, Black, Stainless Steel, and Brass. Port options include 65W USB-C (PD), 30W USB-C (PD), USB-A, and AC outlets with configurations that connect up to 8 devices.

What's included, and how long is the cord?

Each Blade ships with:

  • 1 Blade outlet (receptacle box, cable management arms, and power cord)
  • 1 cover plate with screws
  • 7 mounting screws
  • 1 instruction manual with cutout template

The cord is 42" on 15 amp models and 36" on 20 amp models.

What is the warranty and return policy?

The Blade has a 5-year limited warranty, and a 90-Day Return window under our return & exchange policy.
