Simple to Plan and Install
The Blade Duo fits with ease into tall and shallow drawer box types. Mount the outlet left- or right-facing, vertically or horizontally, to suit your layout. It fits the standard 2" of space behind the drawer box, or as little as 1.25" with the addition of a spacer, in both standard and custom cabinetry. Every package includes detailed instructions, a cutout template, and screws, and installation requires only a few tools and basic DIY skills.
Safety & Code Compliance
All Blade outlets are ETL Listed for the US & Canada and feature an interlocking thermostat that cuts power at 120°F to prevent overheating. Premium all-metal construction is verified through rigorous cycle testing and backed by our industry-leading 5-year warranty.
Ensure NEC compliance (2023 edition):
- Kitchen, bathroom, and other drawers: Any Blade or Blade Duo outlet is NEC compliant in all drawers except those in kitchen islands and peninsulas.
- Kitchen island and peninsula drawers: USB-only configurations (Blade Duo 1514-288 or Blade 1514-180) are allowed.

How to Plan Your Charging Drawer Project
Work through this checklist before you order to confirm fit, power, and code — and to spot any issues early.
Choose Your Drawer Type
Start with what you want the drawer to do:
- Shallow Drawer: The most common choice for a kitchen charging drawer. Create one organized place to charge the technology your household uses every day.
- Tall Drawer: Ideal for a powered appliance drawer that keeps small kitchen appliances organized, connected and ready to use.
Confirm Your Drawer Size
Measure the outside width (OD) and interior height of the drawer box.
- Shallow Drawer: At least 15" of outside drawer-box width and 3" of interior height
- Tall Drawer: At least 13" of outside drawer-box width and 4" of interior height
Both drawer types require 2" of space behind the drawer box in a base cabinet up to 24" deep. The required clearance can be reduced to 1.25" by adding a spacer.
Choose Your Power and Charging Configuration
Blade Duo 1514-278 is our go-to configuration for kitchen charging drawers. It combines:
- (2) 65W USB-C for compatible laptops and larger USB-C devices
- (2) 30W USB-C for phones, tablets and everyday devices
- (2) USB-A for devices using traditional charging cables
- (2) AC outlets for plug-in devices and chargers
For a multi-functional charging drawer, choose a Blade Duo configuration based on the number of AC outlets and the appliances you plan to power.
For most residential kitchen projects, 15 amp is the standard choice. Choose a 20 amp configuration when the project or specified circuit requires it.

Installing your Blade Duo
Installation takes a few basic tools, seven screws, and about thirty minutes for a DIY-savvy homeowner or trade professional. The Blade Duo mounts to the back of the drawer box, and its cord plugs into the nearest in-cabinet outlet.
