Vanity drawer remodel

Trevor G., our savvy customer in Canada, orchestrated a remarkable en suite washroom project that seamlessly integrated multiple Docking Drawer products for optimal functionality and safety. Featuring the Blade Duo in-drawer outlet and stainless steel canisters for hot tool storage, this styling drawer allows for easy in-drawer power while still protecting the drawer box from the heat of the hair appliances.

In adherence to the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), Trevor opted to pair his outlet with the Safety Outlet with Blade Limit Switch, which makes an AC outlet within the cabinet code-compliant in Canada. This critical component ensures compliance while prioritizing safety by cutting power to the outlets when the drawer closes. “Hi, Docking Drawer. We just finished our en suite washroom, and we wanted to share our finished results with you. To eliminate the clutter of cords from hair dryers and other personal care items on the vanity top, we incorporated the Docking Drawer system in one of the drawers. Within the pullout, we decided to install the Blade Duo, which has two outlets to maximize its usability. The unique feature in this application is that our drawers are only 11 inches wide. So we installed the dual blade vertically, as you can see here. By doing this, it allows half of the drawer to be used for cord management, and the other half incorporates grommets to accommodate various hair styling tools. In Canada, concealed outlets are not allowed by the electrical code, but we used Docking Drawer's optional Interlock Switch, which is installed at the back here, which will disconnect the power to the outlet when the drawer is closed and not in use. Once you open the drawer, the outlet is energized and ready to use again. This way, if someone forgets to turn off a straightening arm, for example, there's no worry that it will continue to heat up and catch fire. Overall, the product works and looks great, and it was so easy to install. Thanks so much, Docking Drawer. We couldn't be happier.”
