At Docking Drawer, our mission is (and always has been) to offer Smart, Safe and Simple solutions for hidden power. And while all of our in-drawer outlets include a patented, interlocking safety feature that cuts power to the outlet when surrounding temperatures exceed 120°F, we’ve leveraged smart technology even further with the development of 2 new Safety Interlock (SIO) Outlets.

1. Safety Interlock Outlet with Blade Limit Switch

Safety Interlock Outlet for drawer outlet

The most popular SIO product, the Docking Drawer Safety Interlock Outlet with Blade Limit Switch, offers an extra layer of safety when combined with any of our 15 amp Blade Series in-drawer outlets by detecting the drawer position and de-energizing the Docking Drawer outlet when the drawer begins to close. Designed as an extra layer of safety for Docking Drawer applications such as:

  • Vanity styling drawers
  • Appliance drawers
  • Charging drawers

2. Safety Interlock Outlet with General Purpose Limit Switch

The Docking Drawer Safety Interlock Outlet with General Purpose Switch, in contrast, is not designed to be used with powered drawers, and can be used alongside any electrical outlet. This product mounts inside of an enclosed space to detect the door position, and de-energize an outlet when the door is closed. Designed as an extra layer of safety for applications where heat-generating appliances are connected inside an enclosed space, such as:

  • Appliance garages
  • Pullout coffee stations
  • Enclosed toaster ovens
  • Printer pullout cabinets

All Docking Drawer Safety Interlock Outlets were designed to offer added peace of mind and improve the safety of any home, lessening household risks. They may also be a consideration for projects such as:

  • Rental homes, where the home is entrusted to short or long-term tenants
  • Vacation homes, where the homeowner may be absent for long periods
  • Children's bathrooms, where forgetful teens or young adults are connecting hot tools inside the drawer
  • & more
