Smart De-Energizing Function
Every Docking Drawer outlet comes equipped with an integrated safety feature that automatically de-energizes the outlet when ambient temperatures exceed 120°F. In applications where heat-generating appliances are used in enclosed cabinet spaces, such as bathroom vanities or kitchen appliance garages, pair the Safety Interlock Outlet with Blade Limit Switch for an additional layer of safety or, if you’re in Canada, to comply with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) for AC outlets within the cabinet.
This outlet safety switch offers peace of mind by guaranteeing that your curling iron or straightener is always turned off if left on during the hectic rush of your morning routine. When closing your drawer, you can enjoy the added peace of mind that the outlets powering your hot tools and appliances are securely powered off, ensuring a safer and more worry-free living environment for you and your family.
Compliant and Simple Installation
The 15 Amp Safety Interlock Outlet is a single gang electrical outlet featuring one NEMA 5-15 receptacle and one low voltage safety interlock switch connector. The outlet fits into a standard junction box, so it is quick and easy to install. Installing the Blade Limit Switch onto the rear mounting bracket of the Blade outlet takes just a few minutes, simply requiring a screwdriver and the included screws to attach and then adjust as needed to allow the Blade Limit Switch to move in and out to the point where it would need to de-energize.
The system complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) for the United States as well as the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)*. It is also ETL Listed for use in both the United States and Canada. If you are looking for an outlet that meets the CEC requirement for appliance garages, please shop for the 20 amp Safety Interlock Outlet with Blade Limit Switch or the 20 amp Safety Interlock Outlet with Corner Mount Limit Switch.
*The Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) has the final say on whether an installation meets the requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code.

The non-contact interlock system acts as a vigilant guardian, automatically cutting off power whenever the drawer is closed.
