Safety Outlet switch?
For the cleanest look and simplest installation, we recommend placing the door-activated switch in the lower corner of the appliance garage—either lower-left or lower-right. This keeps the solution discreet, minimizes visual clutter, and provides a consistent guidance point for designers, installers, and customers. It’s a recommendation, not a requirement.
In practice, switch placement is highly flexible. The switch can be mounted at the top, bottom, or middle of the door opening and approached from different sides or angles to suit cabinetry, hardware, and workflow. Select the location that best conceals components while maintaining easy access and a tidy appearance.
The only requirement is that the switch and magnet must align within ½ inch to operate reliably (up to 1 inch when using our extensions/larger magnets). As long as that alignment is met with the door closed, the installation is compliant, giving you broad freedom to place the switch where it looks and functions best.
